I'm Daniel, a Senior Software Engineer based in Copenhagen. I specialize in building Fintech SaaS and developer tools that solve real-world problems. I believe the best software doesn't just work—it makes life easier for the people using it.

My Journey

My career began in 2018 at a startup called Debitoor. I joined as an intern while studying Computer Science at Cphbusiness and quickly discovered a passion for Node.js and web architecture. I stayed with the team through its acquisition by SumUp, where I've evolved from a full-stack developer into a Senior Engineer. Over the years, I've navigated the transition from a small startup to a global fintech ecosystem. My work has spanned the entire stack—from building core payment APIs and government integrations to leading large-scale Kubernetes migrations and optimizing databases that handle millions of transactions.

What drives me

I am a firm believer in learning by doing. Currently, I'm focused on:

  • Developer Velocity: Building tools and monorepo architectures that help teams ship better code, faster.
  • AI & Automation: Exploring how AI can move from a "gimmick" to a core part of the developer workflow.
  • Open Source: Creating and maintaining tools like kill-port-process and VS Code extensions that support the broader dev community.

Outside the Code

I believe a high-performing engineer needs a solid balance. When I'm not at my keyboard, you'll likely find me:

  • Staying Active: I'm into running, lifting weights, and playing padel.
  • Unplugging: Walking my dog through the forest or by the beach.
  • Continuous Growth: Whether it's a new tech stack or a new hobby, I'm always a student of something.
